With elevations beginning at 6,200 feet, late spring and early summer hiking is most favorable. Creek crossings should be of concern due to spring run-off. This trail is still in a primitive state with only a few signs to reassure visitors. This area has much to offer including: fishing in Kannah Creek which runs parallel to the trail, wildlife and plant identification, and expansive scenery. Trail is designated for hiker and horse travel only. No motorized vehicles are allowed
Directions from Grand Junction via Hwy 50: Travel east on Hwy 50 for 12 miles to Lands End Road. Travel approximetly 9 miles northeast to Kannah Creek gauging station. The Kannah Creek Trail head begins just beyond the bridge from the parking area.
Directions from Grand Junction via Hwy 65: Travel east on Hwy 70 to Hwy 65 south. Take Lands End Road southwest approximately 3 miles to Carson Lake. Kannah Creek Trail begins on the dam of Carson Lake.
