Due to high elevations, the snow line may be present in early summer with snow banks and drifts through mid-June. Creek crossings may be difficult due to spring run-off. Trail is moderate in difficulty only due to length. The fullest length of trail is under the Mesa Rim, providing scenery into the Kannah Creek basin, with wildlife and plant identification popular through the full length of trail. Hiker and horse use only. No motorized vehicles allowed. Trail ends at Carson Lake for fishing and undeveloped camping. Plan to spend the night for the fullest enjoyment of this trail.
Directions from Grand Junction: Take Hwy 50 east twelve miles to Lands End Road. Take Lands End Road northeast for 14 miles to Wildrose Campground.
