The biggest attraction for visitors who come to Lake View Campground is Taylor Park Reservoir. The main parking area, boat ramp and fishing site on the southern side of the lake is located immediately across Taylor River Road from Lake View Campground. This site provides drinking water, picnic tables, fire grates, garbage collection and vault toilets for 46 camp sites. Reservations are accepted at this site, and it fills most weekends during the summer months.
Directions from Almont: Drive north on Highway 135 from Almont to Taylor Canyon Road (Forest Road 742). Turn right on to Taylor Canyon road and travel 23.25 miles to Lake View Campground.

Difficulty: Number of People Encountered: 11-25 ppl Recommend to a Friend: Highly Report: Large campground, great views. Close enough to Gunnison for day trip to town. Won't tell you our favorite sites, but it's worth the 3 hour drive. Conditions: Rainy last year, typical afternoon thunderstorms. Partial shade on most sites. Water Availability: Plenty
