General Description
After leaving Carbon Creek this route climbs gradually through aspen groves until it forks. This is a loop road and either side of the fork will eventually bring you back to this point. The total mileage for this route is approximately five and a half miles. This road passes through private land, please respect owner's rights.
Directions from Gunnison: Travel two miles north on Highway 135 to Ohio Creek Road. Turn left and travel ten miles north on Ohio Creek Road to Carbon Creek Road. Carbon Creek Road leads to the right of Ohio Creek Road. Follow Carbon Creek Road three miles north to the Carbon-Red Mountain Road #563. Turn right on to Carbon-Red Mountain Road.
