Copper Creek originates in the Elk Mountains at Copper Lake. It is a swift stream that supports small brook trout. The creek flows from Copper Lake and culminates in a spectacular water fall, Judd Falls, before dumping into the East River. The Copper Creek valley exists in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, therefore access to the creek is limited to foot or horse travel.
Directions from Gothic: Follow Gothic Road passed the townsite of Gothic. The turnoff for the Judd Falls Trailhead will be on the right side of the road immediately outside of the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab's land.
