Leaving Highway 50 this road follows Dry Gulch for the first four miles. It climbs from 7,813 feet , at Highway 50, to 10,400 feet, at the wilderness boundary. Dry Gulch Road leads approximately eight and a half miles from the highway to the wilderness. The number of this road changes half way to the wilderness boundary. It begins as BLM road 3106, but after approximately five miles 3106 bears to the right and leads back to Highway 50. Forest Road 812 begins and continues the northern traverse of the area. Take the left fork to reach Cabin Creek Road.
