General Description

East Brush Creek forks from Brush Creek eight and a half miles from Highway 135. The eastern spur then continues three and a half miles in a northeasterly direction to a parking area. The Brush Creek Trailhead lies at the end of East Brush Creek Road. Along the last two miles of East Brush Creek you'll also find Block & Tackle Trailhead. The road follows East Brush Creek for it's entirety.

Directions from Crested Butte: Travel one and a half miles south of Crested Butte on Highway 135 to Brush Creek Road, Forest Road 738. Turn left on to Brush Creek Road and follow it approximately eight and a half miles to East Brush Creek Road, 738.2B.

Block and Tackle Trail - Block and Tackle Trail is located east of Crested Butte. It leads from East Brush Creek Road, 738.2B, to Cement Creek Road, 740.

Brush Creek - Brush Creek begins in the Elk Mountains and flows into the East River on the eastern flanks of Mt. Crested Butte.

Brush Creek (winter) Trailhead - Brush Creek Winter Trailhead lies two miles from Highway 135. The well-used trails available from this site include East and West Brush Creek and Farris Creek Roads.

Brush Creek Road #738 - This road is a popular route for off-road vehicles, including mountain bikes, between Aspen and Crested Butte. The road is extremely technical when it nears Pearl Pass.
