Flat Top Road begins on private land, but enters National Forest land one half mile from Ohio Creek Road. The road then climbs steadily and passes through four forks in the path. Forest Road 863.2B leads to the right at the first fork, a dead end leads to the left at the second fork, 863.2A leads to the right at the third fork and 862 leads to the right at the fourth fork. There are many roads, a few listed above, that lead to dead ends in this area. Be sure to bring a map of the area so as not to experience difficulty. There is no access to this area from Highway 135.
Directions from Gunnison: Travel two and a half miles north on Highway 135 to Ohio Creek Road. Turn left and drive four and a half miles north on Ohio Creek Road. Flat Top Road leads toward the east.
