General Description

The Henry Lake Trail begins along the South Lottis Creek Trail approximately one mile south of the confluence of Brush Creek and South Lottis Creek. The South Lottis Creek Trail and Henry Lake Trail lie within the Fossil Ridge Wilderness area.

The Henry Lake Trail begins at an elevation of 10,740 feet. It climbs steadily, paralleling South Lottis Creek. The trail extends two miles to Henry Lake, crossing some bog areas while following South Lottis Creek. During the last half mile before the lake the trail ascends rapidly. Henry Lake lies at 11,704 feet.

Directions from South Lottis Creek Campground: Hike south on South Lottis Trail, #428, about four miles from Lottis Creek Campground. Henry Lake Trail will veer to the right following South Lottis Creek.

Directions from Gold Creek Campground: Hike north on South Lottis Creek Trail, 428.1, six miles to the Henry Lake Trail.
