The headwaters of Lottis Creek originate in the Fossil Ridge Wilderness Area at an elevation of 12,000 feet. These waters may be accessed by foot and hoof only, due to the region's wilderness designation. A four-wheel drive road, 752, leads from Taylor Canyon Road to the wilderness boundary. From the Lottis Creek Campground, travel one and a half miles upstream where South Lottis Creek joins Lottis Creek. At this confluence rainbow, brook and brown trout are present. You can also travel further through Union Canyon to Union Park where brooks and browns are predominant. Beaver ponds and willow are present in Union Park. Eight miles of good fishing are available from the Lottis Creek headwaters to it's junction with the Taylor River. Beyond the campground, access by car is possible for one mile before the road ends and trail begins.
Directions from Almont: Travel Taylor Canyon Road, #742, for 17.5 miles to Lottis Creek Campground, where access upstream and downstream is available. The Willow Creek Road also provides four-wheel drive access from Taylor Park to Union Park. Two trails also provide access from the south: Gold Creek Trail and South Lottis Trails.
