Pieplant Road leads northeast from Taylor River Road to the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness boundary. It leaves Taylor River Road at an elevation of 9,522 feet and begins to ascend. This route is not very steep and gains only 786 feet through it's entire course. Two miles from the Taylor River Road, Pieplant Road joins Pieplant Creek and follows the Creek until it ends at a mill site. The road continues a short distance beyond the end of the creek to the junction with Timberline Trail.
Directions from Almont: Travel twenty six miles northeast on the Taylor River Road, Forest Road 742. Pass the Rivers End Campground and continue traveling approximately three miles to Pieplant Creek Road, 742.8F, which leads towar the east and Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.
