On the Trails Illustrated Map West Antelope Road leaves Ohio Creek Road as BLM Road 3115. From Ohio Creek Road you'll drive through eight miles of private land before reaching the National Forest boundary. The first four miles on 3115 are passable by two-wheel drive vehicles; the remainder of the trip requires a high-clearance vehicle is necessary. A mile past the fork with BLM Route 3116 is the turn off for West Antelope Road. It leads westward after a very sharp turn. This part of the road follows Deep Gulch around the north side of an 8,860 foot peak. At the next fork follow the right side and continue climbing. After a short distance the road comes to a 'T': turn right here. Almost immediately after the 'T' is another fork: take the right side at this junction. The forest boundary is two miles from this junction. The road follows a ridge five miles passed this junction to the next fork in the road. At this point follow the right side of the road to the junction with Steers Gulch Road. The last mile has many four-wheel drive roads that branch off and are all dead ends.
Directions from Steers Gulch Road: Drive 11 miles North on the Steers Gulch Road, 726. West Antelope Road leads east just south of the wilderness boundary.
Directions from Gunnison: Travel north two and a half miles on Highway 135. Drive two miles north on Ohio Creek Road and turn west on to West Antelope Road (BLM Road 3115, Forest Road 818).
