General Description

Slumgullion Campground is located southeast of Lake City. Visitors who use this campground have access to motorized trails, fishing streams, hiking trails, biking trails and wilderness areas. There are also scenic drives and four-wheel drives close to this site. Visitors may also travel a short distance to Lake City to view historic museums and art galleries.

Directions from Lake City: Drive 9 miles southeast on State Road 149 to Forest Road 788. Turn left on to 788. Slumgullion Campground is located within .25 miles of the junction of 788 and State Road 149.

Windy Point Overlook - The Windy Point Overlook lies approximately one and a quarter miles west of Slumgullion Pass on Highway 149. This site provides an excellent view of the Slumbullion earth flow and the surrounding terrain.
