General Description
This trail provides a secondary access route into the La Garita Wilderness Area. The trail follows Pasture Creek for about 1 mile and then crosses over into the Rough Creek drainage. Herds of deer and elk are often seen at various places along the trail.
Directions from Lake City: Take Hwy 149 south 10 miles. Turn onto Forest Road #788 at the Slumgullion campground turnoff. Travel about 11 miles northeast to the Rough Creek Trailhead sign.
