The Canyon Creek-Horseshoe Creek Loop provides some diversified opportunities for hiking and backpacking. Trails 481, Canyon Creek, and 482, Horseshoe Creek, form a twelve and a half mile loop. The loop begins from Forest Service Road 888 where Canyon Creek intersects the road. It follows Canyon Creek for almost two miles to a fork in the trail. At this fork Canyon Creek Trail leads left and Horseshoe Creek Trail leads right. The Horseshoe Creek Trail leads approximately three miles northeast to Stella Mountain from this fork. Less than a mile north of Stella Mountain it rejoins Canyon Creek Trail. At this trail junction Canyon Creek Trail leads northeast toward Tomichi Pass and southwest toward Snowblind Campground. To complete the loop turn left at this junction. Less than two miles southwest of this northern trail junction the path rejoins Canyon Creek. Canyon Creek Trail follows the stream back to the trailhead. A topographic map of the area is recommended for use on this loop hike.
