General Description

Nellie Creek Road, Forest Road 877, leads four miles north from Engineer Pass Road, following the path of Nellie Creek. It takes you to a large parking area that is Uncompahgre Peak Trailhead, on the Uncompahgre Wilderness boundary, one of the access routes to Uncompahgre Peak.

Directions from Lake City: Take Engineer Pass Road along Henson Creek about 5 1/2 miles to Nellie Creek Road, Forest Road 877. A sign will direct you. From the Engineer Pass Road, drive north on Nellie Creek Road one and three quarter miles. Here the road forks. Bear left as the right fork is closed to motorized vehicles.
