The Sawtooth Trail is located southwest of Yampa in the Flat Tops. It can be accessed only on foot or horseback, by the Sand Creek Trail #1123. It departs to the west of the Sand Creek Trail in a saddle, 3.3 miles north of the Coal Creek trailhead. The trail climbs into the Flat Tops Wilderness, to the tributaries that make up the headwaters of Trout Creek. It leads to some good fishing in these headwater streams. LEAVE NO TRACE As humans, we must minimize our impacts to help preserve this resource for present and future generations.
