Dumont Lake

Dumont Lake Campground is located 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs on U.S. Highway 40 at Rabbit Ears Pass. It sits at an elevation of 9,500 feet. Dumont Lake Campground and Picnic Area are handicapped accessible. The area borders on the Continental Divide and sits on top of the Park Range, offering spectacular views of several Colorado mountain ranges. Dumont Lake is located at the picnic area, which is separate from the campground. The lake is restricted to electric motors or hand propelled boats only. The area offers fly fishing in both lakes and streams, access to hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking on the many nearby dirt roads and trails. Bird watchers and wildflower enthusiasts will find this area a paradise. Facilities: The campground has 22 campsites with tables and fireplace grates, a water system (seasonal), vault toilets, and dumpsters. Pull-thru trailer spaces, up to 40 feet are available. Water and trash service normally terminate September 30.
Directions from Steamboat Springs: Travel 22 miles southeast on US Highway 40. The campground is located to the north of the highway, near the east summit of Rabbit Ears Pass.
