Freeman Campground is located about 21 miles north of Craig, near Freeman Reservoir, at an elevation of 8,800 feet. Fishing is available on Freeman Reservoir but no motor-propelled water craft, including electric or internal combustion engines are permitted on Freeman Reservoir. This area accesses several mountain bike, horse and hiking trails. No motorized trails are accessible from this campground. Facilities: Freeman Campground has campsites with tables and fireplace grates, a seasonal water system, vault toilets, dumpsters, and pull-thru trailer spaces (under 22 feet). Water and trash services are normally limited after Labor Day.
Directions from Craig: Travel 13 miles north of Craig on State Highway 13, then 8 miles east on Forest Road 112/County Road 11.
Directions from Steamboat Springs: Travel west on US Hwy 40 to Craig. From Craig, travel 13 miles north on State Highway 13, then 8 miles east on FDR 112.
