Conejos River
There is fishing access to the Conejos River and Spectacle Lake. The lake is year round, with winter ice-fishing. Spectacle Lake Trail 730 begins 1/2 mile south on Forest Road 250. Ruybalid Trail 855 and Notch Trail 729 are also accessible. 2 sites have parking for two car groups. Both day and overnight use is permitted. The facility has 24 sites with tables and fireplaces (firewood is limited). 2 vault type toilets, refuse containers and pickup. There is a developed water system with 2 hand pumps. No boating is allowed on Spectacle Lake.

Directions from Antonito, Colorado: Travel west for 23.0 miles on Colorado Highway 17 to Forest Road # 250. Go 7.0 miles northwest on FR # 250 to campground entrance.

Seasonal Information:
Normal Services Available: Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend (NOTE: After Labor Day, reduced services when campground is open for Big Game Hunting season and Fall color viewing. Campground alternates with Conejos Campground in remaining open after Labor Day.) .

Conejos Campground - Conejos Campground has 16 campsites with picnic tables and fireplaces. There is public access to the Conejos River. Both day and overnight use is permitted.

Conejos River - The Conejos River provides more than 30 stream miles of high quality wild trout fishing. The Conejos River has more public fishing access along its length than any other major river in Colorado.

Notch Trail - The Notch Trail is a fairly strenuous hike as it climbs steeply out of the Conejos River valley.

Ruybalid Trail - Spectacular views of the Conejos Canyon can be seen from many vantage points along the trail.
