This is one of the few lakes or reservoirs with road access located in Conejos Peak Ranger District. Small motorized and nonmotorized water craft are allowed on Trujillo Meadows Reservoir. This activity is most popular among fishermen and boat rental is available. Crafts producing wakes, however, are not allowed. Trujillo Meadows Campground is nearby as is the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad route. Los Pinos Trail (Forest Trail 736) can be accessed via the improved dirt Forest Road 1C and 4 WD Forest Road 118.
Directions from Chama, New Mexico: Travel northeast 21.1 miles on Colorado Highway 17. Then go 2.5 miles north on Forest Road 118 to Forest Road 118.1B. Bear left 0.3 miles north on Forest Road 118.1B to the reservoir.
