General Description

Highway Springs Campground on U.S. 160 - 9.27.91

The south fork the Rio Grande provides fishing opportunities. The facilities include 11 campsites with tables and fireplaces, 5 campsites with fireplaces but no tables, 2 vault type toilets, trash cans and adequate turn around and parking space for RV's. No drinking water or firewood is provided.

Directions from South Fork: Take U.S. Highway 160 4 miles southwest. The campground is on the south side of the highway.

Normal Services Available: Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend (NOTE: Campground alternates staying open after Labor Day until November 15, for Fall color viewing and big game hunting. Reduced Services. Campground may close earlier due to deep snow.) .

Report: Just drove by so dont' have specific details, but just know that this campground is right on 160, so it is very convienent, but probably also lots of noise from the road. Might be quiter options in the area.
