Rocky Mountain Columbine
Columbine Picnic Area is located alongside U.S. Highway 160, 26 miles west of Del Norte and 9 miles west of South Fork. The facilities include: 6 picnic sites with tables, a vault toilet, parking space for trailers and motor homes and drinking water is provided with hand pumps during the summer months. There is fishing access to the South Fork of the Rio Grande.

Commercial facilities are located 1/2 mile east at South Fork. Interpretive signs are located here. Please pack your trash, no refuse receptacles are provided. This site is for day use only.

Directions from SOUTH FORK, COLORADO: TRAVEL 9.5 MILES WEST ON HIGHWAY 160 TO COLUMBINE REST AREA.

Normal Services Available: Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend (NOTE: Picnic Ground alternates staying open after Labor Day until November 15, for Fall color viewing. Reduced services. Campground may close earlier due to deep snow.) .
