This campground is located 9.5 miles southwest of Creede just off Colorado Highway 149. There are 4 undeveloped sites with several moveable tables and one vault type toilet. Drinking water is provided with a well that is closed after Labor Day. There are no refuse receptacles, nor is firewood provided. Please pack your trash. There is screening on an open bench directly on Rio Grande River with trees along river. The campground is completely hidden from Colorado Highway 149. There is a short stretch of road dropping into the campground that is relatively steep and narrow for large travel trailers and there is limited maneuverability. This is a good area for small groups (Family reunions, etc.). You can fish, picnic and enjoy other water sports, there is a good rafting or tubing put-in point.
Directions from Creede: Travel southwest on Colorado Highway 149 for 8.4 miles, to the intersection of a dirt road running south from the Highway (White metal sign on right side of Highway reads "Rio Grande Fisherman's Area"), through a gated fence, then approximately 1 mile south on dirt road.
