General Description

Access via Monte Vista. There are 11 single unit camping sites with tables, fireplaces, vault toilets and developed drinking water provided through hand pumps. Firewood is limited and no refuse receptacles are provided.

Fishing is possible in Cave Creek (just below Campground), Poso Creek, South Fork Carnero Creek. Mountain Biking can be enjoyed to Cool Broth Canyon which leads to La Garita Trail and Geronimo Creek Trail. Big game hunting is also possible in this area.

Directions from Monte Vista, Colorado: From U.S. Highway 285, take the La Garita turnoff (County Road 41 G) and follow the paved road 6 miles west where the road forks. Take the right fork, the gravel surface Carnero Creek Road 690, 10 miles northwest to Road 675. Take Road 675 west 1.5 miles to Poso Campground.
