Pawnee Campground is located west of Ward near Brainard Lake. It sits at an elevation of 10,400 feet. Area attractions include fishing, nonmotorized boating, and access to the Indian Peaks Wilderness. This is a very heavy use area.The campground offers drinking water, vault toilets, gravel interior roads, trash pickup. There is a campground host available.
Directions from Nederland: Travel north on Highway 72 approximately 8 miles, to the town of Ward. Travel west 5 miles on Forest Road 112 to the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. Pawnee Campground is located within the Brainard Lake Recreation Area.
Directions from Boulder: Travel west on Highway 119 approximately 17 miles to the town of Nederland. Travel north on Highway 72 approximately 8 miles, to the town of Ward. Travel west 5 miles on Forest Road 112 to the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. Pawnee Campground is located within the Brainard Lake Recreation Area.
