This trail is heavily traveled by a range of users from day hikers to horseback parties. At the Mitchell Lake parking lot the Beaver Creek trailhead is to the north (your right as you come in). The Beaver Creek Trail climbs to 11,300' before dripping down into the Middle St. Varian drainage. A fork in this trial to the northwest leads to the summit of Mt. Audubon via the Mt. Audubon Trail.
