The trailhead for these trails is at the Mountain Park Campground. Kreutzer Trail: The Kreutzer Trail is a signed interpretive nature trial and offers an enjoyable hike for the young and old. No drinking water is available. It is part of the National Recreation Trail system. Mt McConnel: The Mt McConnel Trail begins at the high point of the Kreutzer Trail. The Mummy Range is viewed from the summit of Mt. McConnel. The descending loops are steep and rocky. Take drinking water.
Directions from Fort Collins: Travel west up Poudre Canyon on Hwy 14 approximately 26 miles. Turn south into the Mountain Park Campground onto the paved road. Southeast of the road you will find the Kreutzer Nature Trail #936. At the high point of the Kreutzer trail is the Mt. McConnel trailhead.
