General Description

Ansel Watrous Campground sits adjacent to the Poudre River. Nearby activities include fishing and hiking. The Youngs Gulch Trail is located just south of the campground. Campground hosts are generally at the campground from early June until early September.

Fish the stream early am or late pm, as the river rafts and kayaks are like gnats. PUMP water only but clean vault toilets. Buy your wood at Ted's place - it's $4 cheaper per bundle than at the campground. Cranky front desk people at the USFS Canyon Lakes office is FT Collins! Number of People Encountered: 0-10 ppl Recommend to a Friend: Highly Report: Nice campground in the fall, esp. in october when the leaves have turned. Camp sites nicely spaced along the river. Fishing fair. Pretty canyon.
