General Description

Clear Lake Campground is located 5 miles south of Georgetown on Guanella Pass Road at an elevation of 10,000 feet. The area offers fishing and picnicking opportunities. Campground facilities include drinking water, tables, fire rings and pit toilets and trash service.

Directions from Idaho Springs: Travel west on Interstate 70 approximately 13 miles to the Georgetown exit. Travel southwest on County Road 381 approximately 6 miles to the site.

Directions from Georgetown: Travel south on County Road 381 approximately 6 miles to the site.

The campsites were spaced far from each other, and the views of the surrounding forest were great. Try to get a campground situated right on the base the mountain, they are more secluded. It's about a five minute hike to get to the creek and a short drive to get to the lake. The fishing in the lake was poor, but in the creek it was fair. Overall, this campground was pretty good. Conditions: This campground had a moderate amount of bugs, so bring repelent. The sites are well shaded and secluded. Water Availability: There is water at the campground, and it is clean, but bring your own just in case.
