General Description

Denver Creek Campground is located in the Willow Pass area, 13 miles northwest of Granby on Highway 125. The campground sits adjacent to Willow Creek, at an elevation of 8,800 feet. It offers fishing access in Willow Creek.

Facilities:
There are 22 campsites. Facilities include vault toilets, fire grates, picnic tables and drinking water.

Directions from Granby: Travel northwest on Highway 40 approximately 3 miles to Highway 125. Travel north on Highway 125 approximately 12 miles to the site.

Number of People Encountered: 11-25 ppl Recommend to a Friend: Highly Report: Right next to the road, but it doesn't get a whole lot of traffic. Very nice brookie fishing up the road towards the pass. Number of People Encountered: 0-10 ppl Recommend to a Friend: Highly Report: Denver Creek is broken up into two campgrounds divided by Hwy 125. We camped on the West side where the creek runs beside several sites. Some of the sites are creekside. A few sites could handle a medium RV, maybe larger. Saw a couple 5th wheels. The area was remote, but a few cars did drive by during the night. We took the better of two spots, and suffered being next to the highway, but also next to the valted bathrooms (clean as they come). We camped late June and it broke out in a short shower in the late afternoon. The evening was incredible with a crystal clear sky full of stars that would rival a sci-fi movie scene. We made a moderate fire in the ring (with grate/grill cover). The night was very cold and extremely damp. I didn't have a thermometer but I'd guess the overnight temp to be low 30s, but the dampness made it a challenge. The morning was partly sunny, crisp, and light showers came and went. It was a rainy week end all over the Western states. Recommended, absolutely. I didn't see anyone fish, but there are no other recreational things to do. Maybe you can do some no-trail hiking up the hills. It'd make more sense to go 'next door' to the Rocky Mountain National Forrest and hike the wonderful trails over there.
