Report: This campground is situated on Halfmoon creek which later turns into Elbert creek. The fishing is fair in the creek. Up the road is Emerald lake which offers fair to good fishing. If you are looking for a very private and secluded campsite, do not go here, instead go to Elbert Creek Campground which is just a little bit more up the road. At Halfmoon the sites are 20 feet apart and are not very secluded at all. The area in which you camp is very beautiful and scenic. Fishing is overall pretty good. Overall this campground is good.
Conditions: Very dry, right next to the creek.
Water Availability: Bring your own water, there is water at the campground though.

Report: This is an awsome campground. We came into the campground around 10 pm, it was pretty much pitch dark. We had no trouble finding a spot. In the morning we woke up to a beautful creek side spot with wonderful views of the peaks. I would highly recommend this campground.
Conditions: august 2002
Water Availability: we brought our own water
