General Description

Mitchell Creek Loop is located 9 miles northwest of Leadville on Highway 24 near the Tennessee Pass summit. The loop is approximately 7.3 miles long and varies in difficulty. The Old Railroad Run section is 2.5 miles one-way and is very easy. Sections of this loop are shared with snowmobilers. Expect to spend an entire day to complete the Mitchell Loop.

Directions from Leadville: Drive approximately 8 miles northwest of Leadville on Highway 24. You will see a large plowed parking lot on the left side of the highway. This is Crane Park Winter Trailhead, park here.
