South Fork Lake Creek Road

South Fork Lake Creek (Forest Road 391) begins at Highway 82 about 8 miles west of Twin Lakes Village and ends at the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness boundary. The road follows the valley floor of the South Fork of Lake Creek. South Fork Lake Creek Road provides excellent opportunities for wildlife and wildflower viewing. Users will find access to dispersed camping along the route. The first 1.4 miles passes through private property, so please respect owners rights and remain on the road. Visitors can gain access to the following trails from South Fork Lake Creek Road: South Fork Lake Creek Trail, Lake Pass and Sayres Gulch Trail.
Directions from Twin Lakes: Travel 8 miles west of Twin Lakes Village on Highway 82 to South Fork Lake Creek Road. This is Forest Road 391 and will be on the left or south side of the highway.
