General Description
This 17 mile loop is usually ridden by mountain bikers, but horseback riders, hikers, ATV riders and motorcyclists may want to try this route. Begin in Leadville at East 7th and Harrison. Follow East 7th Street past the Matchless Mine where it will turn to dirt. Stay on the main road staying left at the two forks and continue up towards Mosquito Pass. At the saddle before the high switchbacks begin you will take a left and travel north down Buckeye Gulch. You will follow this "road" through a major bog and past the railroad tracks to Colorado Hwy. 91. At this point, take a left and travel along the highway back to Leadville. You may want to try this route from Highway 91 and ending in town.
