Fishing is accessible in the nearby North Fork South Arkansas River and North Fork Reservoir. Hikers can access the Colorado Trail which passes by the campground. Access to the Mt. Tabeguache Trail is available at Jennings Creek. Opportunity for four-wheel driving may be found on a variety of roads surrounding the campground.

Directions from Poncha Springs: Begin driving from the intersection of Highway 285 and Highway 50 in Poncha Springs. Travel six miles west on Highway 50 to Maysville. Turn right (north) on to County Road 240 and drive four miles to the campground. The road is paved to within one mile of the campground.
