Wagon Loop Trail is a short easy hike that begins at Browns Creek Trailhead and intersects with the Colorado Trail

This trail provides an opportunity for a relatively easy 1/2 day loop hike or ride out of the Browns Creek Trailhead. The whole loop incorporates usage of the Browns Creek Trail, Colorado Trail, Wagon Loop Trail and County Road 272. The total mileage for the loop is approximately 3.5 miles including a .66 mile walk on road 272 back to the trailhead. A small corral is provided at the trailhead with a few spots for primitive camping. Please use existing campsites and fire rings.Visitors can travel west on the Browns Creek Trail, 1429, about 1 mile to its junction with the Colorado Trail. This stretch includes a mild ascent from 8,970' to 9,520'. Users should turn south on the Colorado Trail and travel approximately .75 miles to Wagon Loop Trail, 1427. To complete the loop travel east on Wagon Loop 1.25 miles to road 272. When you reach the road walk north (left) to the Browns Creek Trailhead.
Directions from Buena Vista: Drive south 10 miles to County Road 270; and then travel west on County Road 270 for 2.5 miles. When 270 sharply turns right continue straight on County Road 272. Drive 5 miles to the trailhead.
