Hartenstein Lake
Hartenstein Trail leads .5 miles west from Browns Pass Trail to Hartenstein Lake. This side trail is .75 miles long and serves as an easily attainable destination for a day hike. The trail intersection lies at 11,160' and is clearly marked. The views of Mt. Yale from Hartenstein Lake are wonderful.
Directions from Buena Vista: Turn west on to Cottonwood Pass (County Road 306) at the traffic light in Buena Vista. Travel about 12 miles to the Denny Creek Trailhead, which is located on the right side of the road.
