General Description

St. Charles Campground is located in the Lake Isabel Recreation Area. This campground is situated approximately 1 mile west of the lake. St. Charles contains 15 family units which are designed to accommodate both RV and tent camping. The facilities in this campground are in good condition.

Drinking water is provided by two deep wells with hand pumps. Sanitation facilities consist of one double-vault toilet. Trash collection is by (2-cubic yard) dumpsters on site. St. Charles has an average use rate of 55% during the normal operating season.

Attractions associated with this campground include nearby lake and stream
fishing, hiking, bike riding, table and fire ring at each site, paved access
roads and constructed tent pads at some sites.

It is the funnest trip you get to see bears and other wildlife and the stream has a small pond behind campsite 3 that my mom and uncles dug. Conditions: Shaddy Water Availability: Enough water Number of People Encountered: 50+ ppl Recommend to a Friend: Neutral Report: Very Crowded! All sites occupied or reserved when we went at all of Lake Isabel. A very pretty area, but the campsites are close together, with little privacy. Apparently it is a playground for Pueblo, so the average occupancy is not as low as it used to be!
