General Description

Lake Isabel Group Sites (Spruce & Ponderosa) are located within the Lake Isabel
Recreation Area. These sites were constructed in 1992 and are in excellent condition. Recreation opportunities include fishing, hiking and biking.

They consist of two separate shelters, the Ponderosa Shelter and the Spruce Shelter. These sites are managed to accommodate groups for picnics, weddings and other group activities. Overnight camping is allowed. The capacities at the sites are: Ponderosa 120; and, Spruce 60. These site are just really beginning to have
high use. No percentage is available for previous years.

Other amenities and attractions associated with these sites include portable
and stationary tables, extra-large standing grills and one fire ring at each
site, handicapped accessible shelters and toilets, paved access road and
parking areas. Drinking water is piped and provided by deep wells with
hand pumps. Trash collection is by (2-cubic yard) dumpsters on site.
Sanitation facilities consist of one four-vault and two single-vault toilets.
