Filed By: Michael Number of People Encountered: 0-10 ppl Recommend to a Friend: Highly Report: Stopped on Aug 27th, but did not camp. Road up is very steep and not for the timid but great views, vineyard and apple orchard along the way. Slow babbling brook more than a fast stream. Thinking of going back in october as this is the only site in forest that is open year round. Area seems more protected from weather by mountains, dryer than Ophir campsite. Conditions: Several sites with nice shade. Steep road with dropoffs on side to get there. Water Availability: Stream, no drinking water.
Number of People Encountered: 0-10 ppl Recommend to a Friend: Neutral Report: Bottom three sites are most level and rock free, best tent camping sites. Others in campground are rocky and best for trailer campers and rv's. Never very crowded. Conditions: Forest service has clear cut 15 trees from the bottom two sites, not much shade now. Shame on them! Water Availability: Bring your own water and you will need to pack out your own trash.
