General Description
Historically this trail was famous for the view of the city gained by climbing an iron stairway to the top of St. Peter's Dome. Vandals dismantled this stairway, which makes it very difficult for hikers to reach the overlook. The trail is less than 1 mile long with no views from the path.
Directions from Colorado Springs: Begin at the intersection of Penrose Boulevard and Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard. Take Old Stage Road (FDR 368) 6.5 miles from there to Gold Camp Road (FDR 370). Travel 1 mile to the trailhead on the right (north) side of the road.
Seasonal Information:
Normally Open:
May through October .

Hence, it is good to go with a small group to help each other at this portion.
