General Description

Boatman's Picnic Ground has 12 picnic units and is accessible only by boat or by hiking to the area. The elevation of the site is 9000 feet. Picnic season begins in late May and continues into October. Overnight use of this area is not permitted. The facilities include tables, vault toilets, fire grates and garbage collection. No drinking water is provided at Boatman's Picnic Grounds.

Directions from Colorado Springs: Drive 16 miles to Woodland park via Hwy 24. Turn right on to County Road 22 and travel 2 miles to Forrest Road 300. Turn right and drive 4.5 miles south to Rampart Reservoir Recreation Area.

Seasonal Information:
Normal Services Available: April through December (NOTE: Dates may change depending on weather conditions. The facilities include tables, vault toilets, firegrates and garbage collection. No drinking water is provided at Boatmans Picnic Grounds.) .
