General Description

Manitou Park General Forest Area is located 8 miles north of Woodland Park on Highway 67. There are 5 campgrounds, a picnic ground and group facilities available in this area. Recreation opportunities abound including, but not limited to fishing, hiking, biking, sightseeing and four-wheel driving.

Directions from Colorado Springs: Travel 18 miles west on Highway 24 to Woodland Park. Turn north on Highway 67 and drive 7.5 miles to Manitou Park Lake. The campgrounds line Highway 67 as you reach the lake area.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Open: May through October (NOTE: Call the Pikes Peak Ranger Office for specific opening and closing dates of campgrounds and picnic grounds.) .

Colorado Campground - Colorado Campground is located in the Manitou Park Recreation Area. This campground is often used as a base to visit the many attractions in the Colorado Springs region.

Manitou Lake Family Picnic Ground - Manitou Lake Picnic Ground is located in the Manitou Park Recreation Area north of Woodland Park. Forty-two picnic sites are available as well as a pavilion for group outings.

Manitou Park Lake Trail - Manitou Lake Trail, #670, encircles the 34-acre reservoir and is open to hikers and mountain bikers. It's a short trail with little elevation gain. It makes a good turnaround for individuals riding the Centennial Trail.

Painted Rocks Campground - Painted Rocks Campground is located in the Manitou Park Recreation Area north of Woodland Park. It has 18 camp sites to accommodate campers at least 30' long.

Pike Community Group Site - The Pike Community Group Campground is located 5.3 miles north of Woodland Park on Colorado Highway 67. This area is developed for group camping but may be reserved for day use at the overnight use rate.

Red Rocks Group Site - The Red Rocks Group Campground is located 4 miles north of Woodland Park on Colorado Highway 67. This area is developed for group camping but may be reserved for day-use at the overnight-use rate.

South Meadows Campground - South Meadows Campground is located in the Manitou Park Recreation Area north of Woodland Park. Many visitors to this campground use it as a base from which they visit the many attractions in the area.
