Spruce Grove Campground located approximately 13 miles northwest of the small town of Lake George, Colorado. Visitors may reach the campground by taking Highway 24 northwest from Lake George for one mile to County Road 77. Travel approximately 12 miles north on 77 through Tarryall City to reach the campground. This campground consists of 26 individual family campsites. Each campsite includes a table, fire grate and parking spur 45-55 feet long. There are eight walk-in sites, five of which are across a footbridge, and at least four sites that are accessible to wheelchairs. Drinking water, garbage collection and vault toilets are provided on site. The nearest public telephone is located in Lake George, about 13 miles from the campground. The nearest fire and emergency services are also located in Lake George. This site is located on Tarryall Creek, within 20 miles of Elevenmile State Recreation Area and Reservoir, and eight miles from Tarryall State Wildlife Area and Reservoir. It offers: fishing on the Creek and the Reservoir; hiking, biking, horseback riding and motorcycle trails; rockhounding; and four-wheel driving opportunities. It is also adjacent to the Lost Creek Wilderness and provides a trailhead for Wilderness access. The parking area can hold up to 20 cars and is used by both hikers and anglers.
