Elevenmile Picnic Ground is located approximately 4 miles southwest of the small town of Lake George, Colorado. Visitors may reach this site by taking County Road 96 south from Lake George for 4 miles to Elevenmile Canyon.The picnic ground consists of 15 sites, four of which are across the South Platte River via a footbridge. Each site includes a table and a fire grate. The facilities include 1 vault toilet. The picnic ground is located on the South Platte River within 21 miles of Elevenmile State Recreation Area and Reservoir and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. Recreation opportunities include: fishing (on the River's Gold Medal Waters) and the Reservoir; hiking, biking, horseback riding, motorcycling and four-wheel driving.
