General Description

Long Gulch Trailhead is located along Lost Park Road (Forest Road 56) approximately 11 miles east of Highway 285. The trailhead lies on the western Lost Creek Wilderness boundary. Hikers and horseback riders may gain access to the Colorado Trail from this site. It is the beginning of section 5 of the Colorado Trail, which is 14 miles long and leads to Kenosha Pass. Hikers and horseback riders may also travel east following the Colorado Trail along the wilderness boundary to the North Fork Trailhead and the McCurdy Trail.

Directions from Jefferson: Travel north on Highway 285 approximately 1 mile to Lost Park Road (Forest Road 56). Turn right on to Lost Park Road and travel approximately 11 miles to Long Gulch Trailhead.

Normally Open: Mid-May through Mid-October .
