Buffalo Campground has 41 camp sites for trailers under 20'. Access to Buffalo Creek is via an all weather road. The elevation of the site is 7400'. Camping season begins in early May and continues to early September. The campground facilities include drinking water, tables, vault pit toilets, and fire grills. The user fee is S10.00 per night. Sites 1-15 are on a first come-first used basis, while the remaining sites may be reserved through the Reservation System. The Buffalo Creek area is popular and heavily used because of it's attractiveness and closeness to the Denver metro area. The Buffalo Creek mountain bike area offers cyclists 30+ miles of trail riding. The Colorado Trail runs through the area and allows hikers access to the trail in several locations. The Buffalo Fire of 1996 closed several trails and roads in the area.

Report: We found this to be a really decent site, and for being there over Memorial Weekend...it was crowded but we didnt have any trouble getting a spot. The Camp Host was a really great guy...but fair warning dog owners...there is a zero tolerance policy about letting dogs run leashless and being a nuisance.
Conditions: In rebuttal to the person who complained in a previous report about "off-road dirtbiking"...the trails around there are for mountain biking, i.e. "cycling", of the human powered non-motorized type, and the place is a paradise for such enthusiasts!
Water Availability: The water spigots were not turned on, reports have it that the wells have become contaminated...so be sure and pack in your own water, and it's only 16 miles down to Deckers if you need supplies.

Report: This is a quiet campground with very large sites. There was only one family camping there, maybe because of the fire restrictions. When I camped there last summer, there were still many empty sites.

Report: For a campground alone, this is a nice site. However, the facilities are misleading. There is very little fishing on site and there is no off road dirt biking allowed. You have to drive at least one-hour (Rampart Range) to find any dirt bike trails. Also, the price per site is $11/night, not $10/night. This site needs to be updated to more accurately state the facilities available. I was quite disappointed that I had brought my friends and family this far out to dirt bike and fish, yet we could not.
