Kelsey Campground, although located approximately seven miles south of the small town of Buffalo Creek on Highway 126, is not considered a part of the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area.This campground consist of 17 individual campsites. Each campsite includes a table, fire ring and parking spur. The facilities include a hand-pumped well and two vault toilets. All roads and parking spurs are paved. The nearest public telephone, fire and emergency services are located in the town of Buffalo Creek. This is a popular area because of it's attractiveness and closeness to the
Denver metro area. The campground is located off Highway 126 and the drive south leads to the South Platte River. Sections of the river are known for Gold Medal fishing. To access the Colorado Trail travel north from the campground. The Colorado Trail provides an excellent recreation opportunity for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking.
