Big Turkey Campground is located approximately five miles southwest of the small town of Westcreek, Colorado. This campground consists of ten individual family campsites. The campsites each include a table, fire ring, and parking spur. Drinking water is provided from a hand-pumped well and sanitation facilities consists of one vault toilet. Access to the campground is limited to high clearance vehicles due to high water bars on a steep section of Forest Road 360. There are dispersed camping sites nearby. The nearest public telephone is located in the town of Westcreek as well as fire and emergency services. Turkey rock is located within one mile of this site and is popular with the rock climbers. Wildcat Canyon to the west attracts many four-wheel drive and off-highway-vehicle enthusiasts and also offers the only South Platte River crossing in the area. The remoteness of the canyon coupled with the good fishing draws many anglers.
Directions from Highway 67: Big Turkey Campground is located approximately five miles southwest of the small town of Westcreek, Colorado. To reach this campground take Highway 67 to the town of Westcreek. Follow Forest Road 360 out of Westcreek to the campground, which will be on the left (south).
